Job Description
Maintaining ISO compliance, it is already in place, just documentation. Main need is someone who can do investigations with Conflict Minerals or Element Discovery. Essentially it is making sure that the composition of the parts the client stocks and sells is compliant with customers' requirements. For instance, cannot be made with steel from Lybia or contain mercury, Lead, or Cadmium for electrical components. This is mainly for overseas sales. The Rojas Standard for one of their standards. You get the Elemental Discover info from the manufacturers, but you need to ask for it.
They have an administrator doing it now but they want a sole individual to handle this and have dotted line for safety at the warehouse (1 forklift there). A quality person out of Manufacturing who has a degree or applicable experience in this background.
Position Description:
The Quality Assurance and Control Specialist is responsible for ensuring organizational-wide quality compliance in accordance with ISO 9001, serving as the ISO Management Representative and for leading quality initiatives, supporting customer requests for QMS information, compliance and inquires, primary responder to issues and inquiries for Conflict Minerals, RMA, REACH, ROHS2 and ITAR for the HQ Schaumburg location and two distribution centers (QCT).

Responsibilities:
Manages the Quality Management System for the organization, supporting the office (HQ Schaumburg) and two QCTs (distribution centers). Serves as the ISO 9001 Management Representative and is responsible for carrying out all quality efforts in operations, efficiency, productivity, training and service delivery. Overseeing and maintaining the Quality Plan, document and data control and CAPA system.
Develops and manages the ISO Internal Auditor Team, updates/revises process, procedures, instructions, specifications and training initiatives to ensure compliance and conformance with the standards.
Responsible for overseeing and performing all elements of the auditing function. Initiate and actively seek opportunities for continuous improvement within the organization, present findings, issue CAPA and propose/implement solutions. Work with selected third party vendor for implementation of the new standards (ISO 9001:2015), manage implementation project line, assign/align resources and manage the implementation project cycle to ensure compliance. Partner with Sales, Engineering, Marketing, Procurement, Operations and Business Units to monitor and drive quality initiatives, document/analyze quality data and ensure quality objectives are meeting targets. Identify areas of weakness, propose counter-measures, implement and monitor performance trends. Monitor the disposition of issued quality nonconformance reports, RMA's and monitor and close out customer complaints, involving quality issues.
Distribution Center(s) QC and safety Management, facility 7s review/management and facility security.
Work with Business Units to standardize, log, monitor and track contract and product changes and overall assist in establishing process change control. Complete Supplier Self- Assessment Surveys, interface with Sales and Management to respond to customer inquiries pertaining to QMS, practices and organizational structure, all facets of Supplier Quality Management. Execute and respond to compliance inquiries pertaining to Conflict Minerals and verifying metal contents for various parts ordered by the customer. Prepare and present the completed reports for Vice President's approval.
Must Haves
3
years of experience in a distribution/logistics/manufacturing industry. ISO 9001 and compliance experience required. Strong background in quality investigations, quality inspection methods, and statistical analysis. Strong working knowledge of MS Excel and Access databases. Most possess organizational/prioritization skills, leadership and interpersonal skills and be an excellent communicator (written/verbal).Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
