Our client is seeking a Process / Manufacturing Engineer to be the focal point for all continuous improvement and production troubleshooting within their facility. They are a national manufacturer with over ten sites across the United states, and this facility near Lincolnshire is one of their premier locations with expected growth over the next few years. This role will have instant leadership responsibilities and report directly to senior leadership.

Our client is a national manufacturer of a variety of metal stamped and formed parts for industrial, automotive, and transportation customers in the US. Currently with over 10 sites in the North America, this facility near Schaumburg is one the premier locations given their custom manufacturing capabilities and expected grow by 15% in 2023.The current CEO and CFO have planned to further implement and drive a LEAN manufacturing culture.


Description


  • Employ Lean and Six Sigma concepts and practices; conduct Kaizen events; improve safety, cost, quality and productivity on existing processes
  • Spearhead continuous improvement initiatives to drive cost savings and increase throughput capabilities
  • Work on the floor alongside production with a focus on active troubleshooting of inhouse manufacturing processes
  • Determine the sequence of steps in manufacturing processes, such as manufacturing costing, fabrication and assembly, required to complete product development while meeting safety, quality and cost goals
  • Utilize product drawings, specifications, and other engineering data to develop processes
  • Conduct time studies; determine manufacturing process times
  • Prepare work instructions detailing process steps
  • May lead and mentor less experienced engineers

Profile


  • 5
    years' experience in industrial or LEAN manufacturing
  • Demonstrated ability to drive Continuous Improvement to manufacturing processes
  • Metal Fabrication Experience Required (Stamping preferred, not required)
  • Hands-on mentality, ability to walk production floor and assist production as needed
  • Knowledge of blueprints and GD&T
  • LEAN/Six Sigma Training/Certifications highly preferred

  • Bachelors degree in Engineering field
  • Six Sigma Black Belt

  • Base salary $85,000-$110,000 depending on experience
