Job Scope:
KYC's Community Collaboration Division is looking for an outgoing, energetic individual who enjoys working with youth and advocates for culturally relevant LGBTQ+, BIPOC-centered youth programs, community-based programming, and youth leadership development projects.
Must thrive working in a highly participatory team environment.
Program will address deliverables aimed at addressing one or more of the following overarching goals:
Provide In-Reach and Outreach to the community to expand education and public awareness regarding gambling disorder and available services for individuals and families impacted by the disorder.
Includes the provision of prevention services to youth and/or adults, especially in identified marginalized communities.
These services shall focus on the unique needs of the individual and the impacted families and communities.
The target populations will be served through various prevention services, including gambling disorder prevention education, communication campaigns, information dissemination, awareness activities, and providing information about resources.
The position primarily entails the planning and implementing strategies to decrease and prevent gambling disorder and increase community collaboration, conducting educational workshops and presentations, coordinating community-led workgroups, do community outreach at community health fairs and festivals, implementing in-person and online evidence-based presentation, and creating content and resources for newsletters and social media.
The position is grant-funded and is subject to the availability of funds from the state of Illinois.
The position is not a work-from-home position.
A DCFS background check must be cleared to confirm a job offer for this position.
Reliable, insured transportation is necessary for community outreach, presentations, meetings, and community engagement.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment where objectives may pivot due to unforeseen circumstances.

Primary Responsibilities Focus prevention services on providing public awareness through outreaches and education to communities impacted by gambling disorders as assigned by the CC grant:
Gambling Program.
According to the annual work plan, work collaboratively within a team to utilize SAMHSA's Strategic Prevention Framework process to plan and implement evidence-based and best-practice strategies in community settings.
Work collaboratively with various community sectors, as determined by program requirements and community needs.
Lead the efforts to increase the number of assessments for Problem Gambling and disordered individuals across the service area and with agencies interested in providing gambling education services.
Conduct an ongoing assessment of current Problem Gambling and disordered individuals and referrals to provider services and activities to determine continued participation and provide technical assistance to providers when needed.
You will also partner with Problem Gambling stakeholders across the state to increase awareness of gambling disorder issues, that help is available, and recovery is possible.
Addressing problem gambling prevention in Illinois and providing referrals for managing problem gambling for those in need and delivering public awareness, outreach, and education to communities impacted by gambling disorders.
Plan, create, facilitate, and evaluate ongoing prevention activities with program participants.
Implement and evaluate evidence-based curriculum approved by the funder.
Accurately collect quantitative and qualitative data for completing monthly, quarterly and annual reports and other documents required by KYC or the funder.
Analyze, prepare, and disseminate qualitative and quantitative monthly, quarterly, and annual program reports.
Attending mandated gambling training and workshops.
Meet with a supervisor as scheduled.
Participate in required and supplemental professional development opportunities.
Follow best practices as defined by the project's funders In compliance with grant rules, proactively plan and collaborate in all community efforts with other division projects with shared objectives for greater reach.
Ensure program requirements meet federal and state policies and grant compliance.
Participate in agency-wide meetings.
Other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience A bachelor's degree in social services, education, public health-related, related field required.
A person with lived experience is preferred Experience in gambling disorders prevention fields preferred.
3 years' experience working with young people (ages 11-18) preferred.
Experience using Microsoft Office and OneDrive.
