8 Schaumburg, IL Schaumburg, IL Full-time Contract Full-time Contract $60,000 - $80,000 a year $60,000 - $80,000 a year We are seeking a Payroll Manager! You will be responsible for running payroll and performing payroll-related functions for 6-10 schools.
Responsibilities:
Performing all duties with integrity, accuracy, timeliness, and customer-service orientation Payroll preparation and processing with Paylocity for multiple companies in different states on an hourly, biweekly, or monthly basis in compliance with state and federal laws and standards Processing all employee changes, additional payments, and final payments Administer and report PTO and overtime Process garnishments and monthly vendor invoices Onboarding and offboarding of employees Contributes to benefits administration and reporting for all assigned employees Maintain employment compliance and regulatory reporting Navigate and assist employees and vendors with any inquiries Takes part in processing and managing FMLA and Workers Compensation requests and reporting Collects and compiles payroll data, entering data or computing and posting wages, and reconciling errors in order to maintain accurate payroll records.
Records change affecting net wages, such as exemptions, insurance coverage, pensions, and loan payments for each employee, and keeping master payroll records updated.
Reports earnings, taxes, and deductions.
Computes and issues paychecks as well as tax-withholding statements for employees' use in preparing income tax returns.
Helps with benefits administration, new hire paperwork, drug tests, background checks, etc.
Maintains files, records, and compiles statistical reports as needed.
Educates employees on the benefits package and assists with employee onboarding and open enrollment processes.
Manages employee 401(k) enrollment process and applicable pensions and makes changes to payroll accordingly.
Files all payroll-related reports, including but not limited to unemployment, garnishment, worker compensation, and pension.
Performing year-end payroll functions to support the processing of year-end tasks, including but not limited to managing the Year-End Dashboard in Paylocity, including ongoing ACA compliance Responds to payroll and benefits-related questions from all assigned school employees, including working closely with the school principal or designee.
Keeping the accounting shared folder up to date.
Uploading all pertinent reports regarding payroll operations.
Managing regular communication and education of employees about their payroll and benefits Providing direct support to the employees on Paylocity-related issues, including but not limited to web pay, web benefits, onboarding, and web time modules.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
At least three years of previous payroll processing experience.
Education-related field experience is preferred.
Strong knowledge of math and accounting.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications is necessary.
Organizational skills with a focus on detail orientation.
Excellent communication skills.
