Business Analyst I T systems (insurance, Property & Casualty, Reinsurance)

TITLE:
Senior Business Analyst, Information SystemsPOSITION OBJECTIVE:
Administer the reinsurance processing system and support all aspects of reinsurance processing.
REPORTS TO:
Senior Manager, Information SystemsLOCATION:
Schaumburg, Illinois (Hybrid)Candidate has to be in and around the Chicago area and will work the hybrid work schedule, three days onsite and 2 days from work.
Wednesday is onsite DUTIES and
Responsibilities:
Serve as the system administrator for the SICS reinsurance processing system, which includes:
Determining how changing business requirements are implemented.
Setting up assumed and ceded contracts Performing batch processing Leading various aspects of the financial quarter close process that are highly integrated with SICS.
Maintaining data integrity and ensuring its accuracy and validity Providing user training and support Coordinating the effort to resolve system issues by working with software vendors and users.
Managing the testing and implementation of upgrades Provide users with data that is easy to access and analyze, which includes:
Designing and building Business Objects reports Designing and building Power BI reports and applications Providing user training and support for the data warehouse and business intelligence tools Designing the corporate data warehouse Design and build other applications as needed.
Act as an information resource for corporate data Develop a thorough understanding of the company's business and operations.
Act as a liaison between departments to facilitate operations.
Lead or manage IS projects as needed.
RELATIONSHIPS:
Work directly with users in all functional areas as well as with InformationSystems, Information Technology, and software vendors to ensure that the system meets userrequirements and that users have access to corporate dataEDUCATION OR TRAINING REQUIRED:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:
Eight years of experience in insurance or information systems A mixture of systems and insurance aptitude A good understanding of property/casualty insurance and reinsurance A comprehensive understanding of relational database and programming concepts Strong communication and organization skills Strong attention to detail Proficiency with data extraction and manipulation PREFERRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/TRAINING/SKILLS:
CPCU and ARe designations.
Familiarity with Power BI, Business Objects, and Microsoft Access ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Ability to travel to conference andcustomer locations.
