Client is seeking a Chef to make an impact on our growing team! The ideal candidate would be someone who enjoys using an innovative culinary approach to a traditional seafood menu. Any urban dining knowledge is a big plus.
You'll be using your classic culinary techniques for the main dining room's upscale cuisine, and for the more casual Oyster Bar adjacent to the main dining room.
Our restaurant focuses on embracing seafood sustainability and developing our kitchen's farmer's market approach: we use local, high-quality produce and seasonal ingredients with seafood flown in fresh each day.
Requirements
o 5
years of chef experience in a high-volume, upscale restaurant
o Strong cooking skills and a developed palate
o Confident, hands on leadership skills to continue developing an established kitchen team
o Creative culinary approach to traditional seafood dishes
o Experienced in systems/organizational skills including scheduling, financials, and sanitation, etc.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with utilizing farmers' markets and/or farm-to-table approach
Any urban dining knowledge is a plus
Highly skilled in cooking/culinary technique and production
Experience with developing and leading one's team through mutual relationship
Ability to creatively build on an established menu & utilize seasonal, local ingredients
Experience with managing details of back of house operations (zoning, P&L, scheduling, etc.) in a systems-driven environmentEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
